Hair Loss Treatments at Adonia Medical in Central London
Hair loss is something that affects millions of people around the world. This condition can cause a great deal of stress to both men and women. Thick, healthy hair is associated with youth and vitality so when your hair starts to thin, it can be quite distressing. Fortunately, there are many effective treatments available, many of which are offered in our Central London office, located near Hampstead.
The main treatments that are available on the market for hair loss are finasteride (Propecia) and minoxidil (Rogaine). Whilst these treatments are effective to a certain degree, they are associated with some amount of undesirable side effects. At Adonia Medical we believe in treating hair loss as a skin condition, since that’s where the problem ultimately lies.
Our medical director, Dr. Ifeoma Ejikeme, is highly experienced in treating hair loss in men and women alike. After meeting with a patient, she determines which treatment or combination of treatments is likely to provide the best results for that individual. She closely monitors the progress of hair regrowth so she can make adjustments to the treatment protocol if the current treatment regimen is not achieving expected results.
Our most popular and effective hair loss treatments include PRP, Microneedling and Mesotherapy. At Adonia Medical, we pride ourselves on putting our patients’ needs first. At our state-of-the-art clinic, we offer a wide range of medical and skincare treatments for patients of any age and gender. You can be assured that when you come to us for a hair loss treatment or any other type of treatment, you’ll receive the best care possible.
Microneedling with PRP
Another very effective hair loss treatment is the application of PRP to the scalp, followed by a microneedling session. The use of micro-needling allows PRP to move quickly beyond the skin’s surface where it can be more effective. The combination of these two effective treatments has helped many of our London patients grow thicker, healthier hair.
Micro-needling with Dermapen™
Microneedling therapy involves the creation of thousands of tiny holes in the skin’s surface. The benefits of micro-needling are twofold. Firstly, these micro-wounds signal that the skin as been injured, which provokes a healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. Secondly, microneedling creates tiny pores on the skin’s surface that allow for optimal absorption of topically applied medications or serums.
In our London clinic, we use the DermapenTM to perform microneedling treatments. DermapenTM was the first micro-needling handpiece to be created and today leading clinics and doctors continue to rely upon DermapenTM for their microneedling needs. We have chosen to use DermapenTM at Adonia Medical because it allows us to maximise patient comfort, while providing quick and effective microneedling treatments.
Through the use of Mesotherapy, we’re able to correct hormonal imbalances around the hair follicles that cause hair loss, while providing the follicles with the nutrients they need to grow healthy hair. Mesotherapy treatment involves injecting microscopic amounts of vitamins, homeopathic agents, minerals and pharmaceuticals into the skin. It is used as a treatment for a wide array of skin conditions at clinics around the world.
Should I keep taking existing hair loss treatments?
Yes. Although Mesotherapy for hair loss can be used as a stand alone treatment, for the best results it’s a good idea to keep taking any existing hair loss products that you’re currently taking.
Is Mesotherapy only used for hair loss?
No. Mesotherapy is used to treat a wide range of skin conditions, including ageing skin, sagging skin and wrinkles. It’s also used as a means to promote weight loss.
Is it painful?
Like any injectable treatment, there may be a small amount of discomfort when the needle is being injectable, although most patients find this to be very mild. If necessary, a topical anaesthetic can be used.
How long does a session last?
This will depend on the extent of thinning and the number of injections needed.
How many sessions are required?
For most patients, it’s recommended that they have at least 10 sessions over a 3-month period. This will yield the best results as far as regrowth is concerned.
Dr Ejikeme and team, thank you so much for my dermaplanning session. I was a bit skeptical at first but my experience was relaxing. My face is glowing!!

I had 3 sessions of laser treatment within a month (and I could clearly see amazing results: most of the blemishes in different areas were gone, and over the following days my skin started to look younger, smoother and with less lines). In the 4th and last session Dr. Ejikeme introduced Electrolysis and this really […]

Dr Ejikeme’s 8 point lift (filler) is amazing. I was unsure of filler after seeing some scary faces on TV but she put me at ease. I’m so pleased with my results. I just look fresher but I look just like me!
