1. Why should I try hair loss treatment?

   There are a number of reasons hair loss can occur; the key is understanding the underlying cause, stemming hair loss and starting appropriate treatment early. Key vitamins and minerals can be assessed and corrected where needed, as well as topical treatments and medication given.

2. How long do results take?

   Results vary, so it’s very difficult to give a timeline of how long they will take, or how long they will last. It’s important to be both patient and consistent with your chosen treatment approach and to follow our advice – which will be tailored to your unique situation – to ensure optimum results. Normally, hair grows at about ½ inch per month, so we recommend serial treatments to see progressive change.

3. Are there any risks related to treatment?

   Side-effects are mild, such as swelling, bruising or tenderness, however it’s also possible to develop an infection. At Adonia Medical Clinic, as a CQC registered clinic, patient safely is our highest concern. Our robust protocols ensure you receive the highest standards of care and safety.

4. Am I suitable for treatment?

   Most people are suitable, however we always insist on a consultation to determine whether the treatment is right for you, and any alternatives you could try.

5. What happens during treatment?

   We’ll assess your hair and scalp, determine which treatment(s) are best suited to you and monitor your progress throughout treatment. Our treatments can be carried out on men and women, regardless of age. We specialise in traction alopecia, androgenic alopecia and telogen effluvium. We work with clinic partners to diagnose and treat most forms of hair loss.

6. Is there anything I should avoid?

   It depends on the treatment you’re using. Our experienced team will support you with this, including aftercare.

7. My hair loss is getting worse. What should I do?

   It may be that there is an underlying medical condition, nutritional imbalance or cause of stress. We can offer blood tests to help identify an imbalance, but in some situations, we may refer you to other specialists who we work with closely to support our patients. For instance, those with alopecia areata, frontal fibrosing alopecia and cicatricial alopecia may need specialist care.

9. What happens if I stop treatment?
